Key Responsibilities

  • •Define Cartesia’s multimodal data strategy across pre-training and post-training sources, with depth in audio.
  • •Lead, mentor, and eventually manage a team building dataset and ML data infrastructure.
  • •Design and operate scalable, high-throughput pipelines for text, audio, and video (ingestion, preprocessing, augmentation, dataset versioning, training data loading).
  • •Partner with research and inference teams to co-design data systems with training and serving infrastructure, including batching, GPU-aware loading, and evaluation pipelines.
  • •Establish rigorous data quality standards and run tight feedback loops between dataset characteristics and model behavior; source novel datasets and manage vendor relationships and budgets.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on experience with ML data infrastructure, including training data pipelines, dataset versioning, and large-scale data loading.
  • •Working knowledge of multimodal data, especially audio formats, preprocessing, augmentation, and storage/streaming patterns.
