Key Responsibilities

•Lead environmental permitting and approvals for operating and proposed metal mines in Ontario, with primary accountability for water management and water quality components.
•Direct the preparation of permit and approval applications and supporting technical documentation, including environmental management and monitoring plans.
•Review project plans and technical studies to identify approvals risks, data gaps, and mitigation or monitoring requirements related to surface water and groundwater.
•Advise clients and internal teams on regulatory requirements, interpretation, and strategy to resolve approvals challenges efficiently and defensibly.
•Integrate multidisciplinary inputs—including hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, aquatic sciences, and engineering—into cohesive approvals deliverables.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, hydrogeology, or related discipline (post‑graduate degree is an asset)
•Typically 8–12+ years of progressive mining or environmental approvals experience, preferably in a consulting environment
•Strong technical depth in water quality assessment methods, monitoring programs, data interpretation, and reporting for mining projects
•Demonstrated experience with Ontario and Federal regulatory regimes applicable to metal mining approvals
•Proven ability to lead technical workstreams, manage scope, schedule and budget, and mentor junior staff
