Key Responsibilities

•Develop state-of-the-art, manufacturable explosive devices and robust hardware integration designs for the Flight Termination System (Starship and Super Heavy) including system controllers and detonators, while accelerating component deliveries.
•Validate reliability of hardware through shock, vibration, thermal cycling, climatic and live-fire testing; design experiments, ground analysis, fixturing, and compile technical reports.
•Collaborate with manufacturing, production, testing, and supply chain to maximize build rate and improve factory yield, accelerating deliveries to more than one full stacked launch vehicle per month.
•Generate and maintain detailed drawings, component specifications, analyses and risk assessments.
•Lead root-cause investigations across development, production, test, integration and launch, implementing corrective actions to prevent repeat failures.

Travel: Low travel

•5+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or hands-on manufacturing.

•Experience with conducting rigorous testing (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, climatic and live-fire) and generating technical reports.
•Willingness to obtain ATF explosives clearance and travel up to 25%
