Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and deliver archaeology projects in the northern half of the country, principally fieldwork.
  • •Lead fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications and deliver archaeological strategies for developments and infrastructure.
  • •Prepare competitive tenders and define scope and methodology for archaeological fieldwork aligned with WSP Health and Safety protocols.
  • •Produce or contribute to archaeological desk-based assessments.
  • •Monitor and assure approved fieldwork subcontractors and undertake stakeholder, curator, and client liaison.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience managing archaeological fieldwork projects, including project, financial, and staff management.
  • •Strong knowledge of Ireland archaeology and history, plus full knowledge of the planning process and relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance.
  • •Experience across areas such as heritage and planning, heritage conservation, heritage-led regeneration, placemaking, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and business development.
  • •Excellent writing skills and strong communication abilities, including maintaining relationships with clients and peers.
  • •A highly motivated, conscientious and efficient working approach to meet deadlines and budgets in a consultancy environment.
