Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform HV switching operations in accordance with 5.18 MSIR 1995.
  • •Ensure compliance with all TransAlta safety policies, standards, and procedures.
  • •Carry out maintenance and planning activities via the Work Management Process, including outage planning.
  • •Plan, organize, and deliver capital works projects.
  • •Troubleshoot plant equipment to restore supply and provide detailed maintenance reports; train new staff and supervise contract support staff.

Key Requirements

  • •HV Switching Operator endorsement.
  • •Trade qualification in an electrical discipline (or higher) and an Electrical Workers License.

  • •Working knowledge of power generation, transmission, and distribution plus ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, P&ID drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
