Key Responsibilities

  • •Hire, mentor, and coach a distributed team of Software Engineers; shape team culture and technical vision.
  • •Work with Product Managers and other Engineering leaders to communicate vision, prioritize the roadmap, and deliver cross-functional objectives.
  • •Assess technical tradeoffs and influence design decisions for distributed software network infrastructure and customer-facing issues.
  • •Own production services through on-call rotations, customer escalations, incident response, and follow-up.
  • •Drive reliability and automation improvements and use tools/processes to communicate status and resolve blockages.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager for teams of Software and Systems Engineers.
  • •A track record of hiring, onboarding, and professional development; can explain both “why” and “how”.
  • •Planning and execution ability to deliver with predictability and meet commitments.
  • •Experience or interest in Layer 3 and Layer 4 networking.
  • •Experience with network performance monitoring and tuning, plus monitoring/alerting/debugging for distributed systems.
