Job Function: Design (Product/UX/UI/Visual)

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the design system strategy and roadmap, including prioritising content, deprecating outdated patterns, and sequencing improvements based on adoption data and product direction.
  • •Design, build, and maintain a reusable component library, architect design tokens (semantic layer), and govern versioning/deprecation to evolve without breaking implementations.
  • •Work closely with front-end engineering to align code implementations with design intent, diagnose divergences between Figma and React components, and support adoption.
  • •Ensure accessibility and quality by owning WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, collaborating on validation with practice/auditors, and adding automated accessibility testing to component pipelines.
  • •Own comprehensive design system documentation and enablement, including usage guidelines and onboarding/reference materials for designers and engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in design systems (or a hybrid design-engineering role) with evidence of building and scaling a design system in a large consumer-facing product organisation.
  • •Strong design sensibility for component quality, coherent token architecture, and a trustworthy system for dependent teams.
  • •Production-grade front-end engineering capability, writing clean, well-tested, accessible React (or equivalent) components in a modern codebase.
  • •Deep expertise in design tokens, including semantic token architecture, theming, and the translation layer between Figma and code.
  • •Advanced proficiency in Figma (component architecture, auto-layout, variables) plus hands-on experience with Storybook or equivalent documentation tooling.
