Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the hardware roadmap and technical execution across airframe design, propulsion, payload mechanisms, structural design, and thermal management.
  • •Design, prototype, and iterate hardware from CAD through fabrication, assembly, and test while building scalable design and manufacturing processes.
  • •Recruit, mentor, and manage a hardware team, establishing engineering processes and best practices as the team scales.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally with software, electrical, product, and operations to deliver integrated systems meeting real-world performance requirements.
  • •Ensure deployment and field readiness by supporting testing and iteration for extreme conditions and coordinating with fire/emergency response partners.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep mechanical hardware experience across aerostructures, propulsion systems, and thermal management, including rapid prototyping through production.
  • •Strong hardware development skills with tools and processes such as CAD, FEA/CFD analysis, GD&T, and DFM/DFA.
  • •Experience designing and testing structural and environmental hardware for harsh, real-world operating conditions.
  • •Proven ability to lead engineers or technical teams in fast-paced, early-stage environments.
  • •Familiarity with supplier/vendor relationships and design-for-manufacturing and design-for-reliability practices.
