Job Summary

Serve as Lead INFOSEC and Cybersecurity Operations (SECOPS) for the EEOC, contributing to and directing the agency’s IT Security Program. Advise the CISO on evolving threat vectors and APTs, support technical policy implementation, and lead the SECOPS cell. Enable incident handling and response with SIEM dashboards, playbooks, and SOC efficiency metrics, and provide expertise across threat, vulnerability, and configuration management, detection, and remediation.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as Lead INFOSEC/SECOPS, contributing to the agency’s IT Security Program, directing SECOPS, and maintaining inputs to the EEOC IT Security Program.
•Advise and support the CISO on cybersecurity/INFOSEC/IT Security developments, emerging threat vectors, APTs, and attack surface weaknesses.
•Advise on technical implementation or introduction of policy and orders, developing supporting documentation and drafts for implementation.
•Direct the Commission’s SECOPS cell and administer SECOPS in support of the INFOSEC Program, including SOC efficiency status reporting and recommendations.
•Enable incident handling and response, administering SIEM dashboards, playbooks, and metrics; provide threat/vulnerability/configuration management expertise and recommendations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 185,000 - 200,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance or Information Security with 12+ years (or commensurate experience).
•Demonstrated experience as a SOC lead/Senior Team lead supporting CISO decisions and implementing cybersecurity changes across users, developers, system admins, and executives as needed.
•Demonstrated proficiency as a SOC manager/Senior Team lead for cybersecurity hygiene and posture status, including support for GRC activities.
•Expertise in incident response (IR), incident handling (IH), and vulnerability management (VM), including mitigating actions and facilitating forensics analysis.
•Experience conducting log-based and endpoint-based threat detection to protect against threats from multiple sources; ability to secure web services and evaluate complex web portals.
