Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and people-manage a team of ~8 technicians, including prioritizing work, approving hours/PTO, and running regular 1:1s and performance feedback.
  • •Own build execution to ensure systems are complete, on schedule, and meet quality standards, including final inspection and sign-off.
  • •Upskill the team through hands-on coaching, onboarding new technicians, and improving technical and process capabilities.
  • •Support mechanical and software engineering teams during assembly, testing, and support of robotic systems while translating engineering intent into build instructions.
  • •Maintain engineering documentation (assembly instructions and SOPs), organize the workshop, drive continuous improvement (e.g., 5S/tooling planning), and enforce safety procedures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, including prior experience leading or mentoring technicians.
  • •Strong mechanical, electrical, equipment, and safety intuition developed through personal or professional projects.
  • •Comfort interpreting schematics and CAD drawings and assembling complex electromechanical systems independently.
  • •Be able to follow safety procedures and reinforce a strong and healthy culture of safety.
  • •Available to work 5 days/week from the San Leandro, CA headquarters.
