Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and build Java-based backend services and microservices to handle high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines at scale.
  • •Drive system design, data modeling, API contracts, and resiliency patterns, advocating for the right solution while knowing when to compromise.
  • •Lead code reviews and promote better abstractions, identifying performance and security risks early.
  • •Mentor teammates and accelerate their growth in a senior-heavy Bucharest team.
  • •Ship with operational excellence including observability, disciplined CI/CD, and infrastructure as code while maintaining reliability in production.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of engineering experience building and operating production backend systems
  • •Deep fluency in Java or Kotlin with strong JVM understanding and performance under load
  • •Strong grasp of distributed systems fundamentals including consistency, failure modes, backpressure and eventual consistency
  • •Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
  • •Experience operating streaming or NoSQL data infrastructure (Kafka, Cassandra, HBase, or equivalents)
