Job Summary

Shape technical strategy and provide architecture oversight for next-generation application and AI platforms. Lead platform standardisation and governance while accelerating time-to-market through Kubernetes-as-a-Service (KaaS), reference architectures, and reusable golden paths. Establish open-source-based engineering stacks and enforce non-functional requirements with policy-as-code and secure-by-default guardrails. Ensure production readiness for early onboarding and partner with developer platform teams to deliver a cohesive developer experience and reduce run-the-bank (RTB) cost.

Key Responsibilities

•Shape platform standardisation and simplification aligned to application rewrite, decommissioning duplication reduction, and RTB efficiency goals.
•Provide technical direction aligned to platform engineering standards and a consistent developer experience across the organisation.
•Define and own reference architectures, designs, technical roadmaps, and golden paths for onboarding workloads to KaaS.
•Embed an open-source-based engineering stack with reusable patterns, components, and reference implementations to improve delivery speed and consistency.
•Govern early product onboarding as senior technical authority by enforcing non-functional guardrails and ensuring production readiness with proportionate governance.

Key Requirements

•Significant experience operating as a Principal Engineer or senior technical authority in large-scale enterprise environments.
•Hands-on platform engineering experience delivering shared services across multiple product and application teams.
•Deep Kubernetes and container platform expertise, including multi-tenant design, cluster operations, security controls, and reliability for KaaS.
•Establish production readiness across resilience, observability, security, performance, and operability with clear non-functional expectations.
•Influence across organisational boundaries by managing complex dependencies and senior stakeholders without direct authority.
