Develop and maintain mining business plan schedule inputs and translate LoM strategy into executable forecast and monthly plans. Run forecast schedules, build recovery scenarios, and reconcile business plan/forecast/monthly plan outputs against actual performance for key metrics like tonnes, grades, material movement, and strip ratio. Support governance and scenario testing using robust assumptions and version control, ensuring legal, geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental, and safety constraints are incorporated.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain business plan mining schedule inputs and ensure clear documentation of assumptions, constraints, risks, and opportunities.
•Translate LoM strategy and business plan direction into practical schedules reflecting cutback/phase strategy, waste deployment, mining sequence, and operational constraints.
•Run forecast schedules throughout the year, update using actuals and revised assumptions, and develop forecast and recovery scenarios to close gaps to plan.
•Lead reconciliation between business plan, forecast schedules, monthly plan, and actual performance, analyzing variances and identifying root causes.
•Support planning governance, scenario testing, and technical support for updates to pit/cutback/dump/haulage strategies based on forecast or reconciliation outcomes.

Key Requirements

•BEng/BSc in Mining Engineering (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
•5+ years open-pit mining engineering experience, preferably in large-scale copper or base metal operations.
•Strong capability in business plan scheduling, forecast scheduling, scenario development, reconciliation, and value-based schedule analysis.
•Proficiency in mine planning/design/scheduling/optimization tools such as Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan, Surpac, MineSight, Whittle (or equivalent).
•Strong analytical capability and stakeholder communication, including technical writing, reporting, and dashboard/action tracker preparation.
