Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify and assess legal risks for Capital One’s premium credit card business.
  • •Interpret laws, regulations, and legal requirements in the context of business intent and initiatives.
  • •Provide legal support as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • •Partner with PPX, Card, Brand, the Business Risk Office, Corporate Communications, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks and resolve issues.
  • •Engage with senior business partners and legal subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • •Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
  • •At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, government agency, military judge advocate role, or as in-house counsel.
  • •Experience ideally involving consumer regulatory, consumer financial services, or fintech industries.
  • •Ability to build collegial relationships and influence others, while prioritizing multiple deadlines.
