Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise and/or coordinate investment activities across a client base of complex high-net-worth personal clients and families.
  • •Manage complex accounts requiring special handling and make continuous revisions to account objectives based on changing client needs.
  • •Provide consultative portfolio advice, including assets where Northern Trust does not have investment discretion, across a full spectrum of investment strategies.
  • •Develop, recommend, and direct execution of programs to achieve investment objectives, including creation of specialized managed portfolios for clients.
  • •Engage internal partners to align trust/agency agreement intentions with proposed strategy and investment authority; coordinate portfolio activity and represent the corporation externally.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 15 years of investment and client relationship experience with consistent long-term performance meeting objectives.
  • •Strong knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, and associated investment strategies and instruments.
  • •Knowledge of investment terminology, trust-investment laws and regulations, taxation, and the bank’s investment policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • •Analytical and sales skills to match client asset situations to specific products, along with interactive skills to understand client/prospect needs.
  • •Advanced degree and related industry qualification (e.g., CFA, CIMA, CAIA).
