Key Responsibilities

  • •Under direction of leader/supervisor, follow instructions and standard trade practices to obtain tools, materials, and equipment for mechanical system work.
  • •Perform component installation and system maintenance/repair, including preventive maintenance and servicing as required.
  • •Assist others on complex installation, overhaul, and repair projects by preparing materials and operating equipment.
  • •Perform similar facility duties within the scope and skill level of the role; assist other trades on joint projects.
  • •May be assigned additional tasks within scope and skill level to support department objectives and develop individual skills.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge of mechanical equipment and mechanisms, including hoisting and rigging techniques and systems, and piping systems.
  • •Some knowledge of carpentry desired.
  • •Must be able to read drawings and use mathematics for measurements; equivalent to 2-3 years trades training plus 1-2 years’ experience.
  • •Preferred experience operating hand tools.
  • •Preferred experience troubleshooting and repairing machines and equipment.
