Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute DFx analysis for mechanical, structural, thermal, and fluid systems subsystems with focus on manufacturability, assembly, and cost.
  • •Lead structured DFM/DFA/DFC reviews at design milestones using scoring to identify producibility and cost risks and drive design changes before production.
  • •Participate in and facilitate DFMEAs to drive design changes, inspection strategies, and control plans.
  • •Evaluate designs with SME manufacturing and design engineers, translating manufacturing constraints into actionable feedback and supporting design trades.
  • •Support contract manufacturer selection/qualification and supplier assessments; contribute should-cost models and cost-driver analyses; develop DFx standards and close the loop with production and supplier learnings.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • •8+ years in manufacturing engineering, producibility/DFx engineering with specialty expertise in mechanical systems, thermal management, or fluid systems.
  • •Strong working knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, composite layup and cure, bonding, casting, forging, and complex mechanical assembly.
  • •Experience participating in or leading DFM/DFA reviews and translating findings into measurable design improvements that reduce cost and improve producibility.
  • •Experience supporting contract manufacturer evaluations (facility assessments, process capability reviews, or production readiness evaluations).
