Key Responsibilities

  • •Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; perform make-versus-buy analysis and coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
  • •Form and coordinate a Materials Core Team, driving product development deliverables through matrix management with buyers, planners, and production control; interpret engineering requirements.
  • •Create, release, and update project materials strategy under some supervision and execute commercialization (transition) materials plans.
  • •Manage sourcing and materials activities including supplier price/delivery negotiations, supplier selection and assessment, supplier risk assessment, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • •Own materials change control, resolve quality and cost issues, generate/publish key process indicators, and support long-lead/inspection planning with engineering while escalating issues when necessary.
