Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Strengthen laboratory technical competencies across the national laboratory network (focus on CPHL and selected public health laboratories), including updating training materials and priority technical SOPs.
  • •Support MoPH and CPHL to strengthen laboratory information management systems, laboratory–surveillance integration, and laboratory data quality for pandemic preparedness and response.
  • •Assess existing laboratory information management and data systems; provide functional requirements and recommendations, including standardized data collection and reporting.
  • •Define a laboratory data management and data quality assurance framework and minimum data elements for integration between lab and programme data, including data-sharing and interoperability recommendations.
  • •Develop a national strategy and implementation roadmap to strengthen External Quality Assessment (EQA) systems, including assessment reports, strengthening plan, and governance/resource recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • •First university degree in Medicine, Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • •Master’s degree or PhD is an asset.
  • •Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory systems strengthening.
  • •Demonstrated expertise in laboratory quality management systems (LQMS) and laboratory assessment tools.
  • •Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic.
