Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement department policies and practices aligned with the school’s vision, aims, and high standards
  • •Establish, monitor, and evaluate short-, medium-, and long-term departmental plans for development
  • •Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students, including high ability, SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL
  • •Assess, record, and report on student achievement, and set staff expectations for standards of achievement, teaching quality, and behaviour
  • •Performance-manage the team, hold department meetings, manage staff/resource deployment, control the department’s Resource and CapEx budgets, and ensure a safe learning environment

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Bachelor of Arts Degree with PGCE in Education or another teaching qualification
  • •Minimum 3 years teaching English National Curriculum
  • •Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child
  • •Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and consideration for children’s well-being
