Job Summary

Build and lead Okta’s internal IAM identity infrastructure as part of the Identity team. Drive the “Customer Zero” philosophy by deploying Okta’s newest identity capabilities before they reach customers, providing rigorous feedback and catching issues early. Mentor engineers, simplify complex problems with automation, and partner across product, security, and engineering to innovate in modern authentication, governance, and secure adoption of AI agents and AI-enabled services.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the primary bridge between internal stakeholders, IAM, and Okta’s core product teams to deploy Okta capabilities first and provide rigorous feedback.
•Mentor and act as a foundational pillar for the IAM engineering team, fostering high performance and continuous learning.
•Identify systemic inefficiencies, automate legacy processes, and champion “Move fast, simplify, and repeat” execution.
•Architect and implement key strategic initiatives for identity security, modern authentication, and governance, including critical deployments.
•Drive secure adoption of AI technologies by designing, deploying, and governing AI agents and AI-enabled services in the enterprise.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•10+ years implementing and/or supporting enterprise IAM solutions.
•Expertise in IAM concepts and best practices, especially SSO, MFA, IGA, and PAM.
•Deep knowledge of modern authentication protocols (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0) and phishing-resistant MFA (FIDO2/WebAuthn, passkeys).
•Understanding of session lifetime security, token binding, token revocation, and continuous access evaluation to mitigate session hijacking.
•Advanced experience with IaC and CI/CD for IAM deployments, including Okta Workflows, Terraform, and GitHub Actions/GitLab CI.
