Job Summary

Perform concrete testing and monitor the quality of ready-mixed concrete for customers by using ASTM procedures and laboratory equipment. Support quality control operations with the operations team, maintain test results and statistical data, and cast specimens for hardened concrete testing. Draft compliance reports, ensure equipment calibration, and provide professional customer service and onsite technical corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

•Abide by safety rules and promptly report unsafe practices or conditions.
•Work with the operations team to ensure quality control operations in line with policies and applicable regulations.
•Perform required ASTM tests (e.g., slump, air, unit weight, temperature, yield) and maintain concrete test results and statistical data.
•Cast concrete test specimens, perform hardened concrete testing, and input results into quality control software.
•Maintain equipment in operational condition, ensure correct calibration, and draft reports to ensure compliance with specifications.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required, with one to two years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent).
•ACI Field Testing Technician Level I certification and NDOT/IDOT/ PCC technician certifications are preferred; must obtain certifications within 12 months in the position.
•Must be 18 years of age or older.
•Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal/motor vehicle background check.
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook (and database software) and be able to perform concrete tests per ASTM standards.
