Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute the policy communications strategy by turning company positions into talking points, backgrounders, and rapid responses while feeding intelligence to legal, policy, and product teams.
  • •Build and maintain relationships with Hill staff and relevant stakeholders across the executive branch, trade associations, think tanks, and civil society organizations.
  • •Advocate directly by taking meetings, delivering positions, and tracking bills and rulemakings while operating within lobbying disclosure and ethics requirements.
  • •Run the D.C. event footprint, owning logistics and follow-up for briefings, roundtables, demos, receptions, dinners, and off sites.
  • •Represent Perplexity in coalitions and working groups and partner with think tanks/civil society on convenings and joint programming.

Salary: USD 185,000 - 200,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •At least 3 years of professional experience, with time on Capitol Hill in a personal office or on a committee strongly preferred.
  • •External lobbying experience (government relations or law firm representing clients) or in-house government relations experience; registered lobbying under the Lobbying Disclosure Act is strongly preferred.
  • •A real Washington network you built yourself, with an instinct to keep growing it.
  • •Proven event execution—running Hill staff briefings or large receptions end to end without issues.
  • •Strong writing and sound judgment to produce readouts/briefing books and represent the company appropriately in-room.
