Key Responsibilities

  • •Whitespace design and planning: architect comprehensive whitespace layouts, including rack placement and aisle configurations, to maximize equipment density while maintaining airflow and accessibility.
  • •Infrastructure integration: partner with Electrical and Mechanical teams to integrate power delivery and cooling systems into the whitespace.
  • •Capacity and growth modeling: develop 3D models and capacity planning tools to project future utilization and ensure scalability.
  • •Connectivity strategy: coordinate with Network and Cloud teams to design structured cabling and fiber management with low-latency requirements.
  • •Cross-functional leadership: participate in design reviews and risk assessments, guiding internal stakeholders and external contractors during construction and commissioning phases.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Data Center Engineering
  • •At least 5+ years of experience in data center design in cloud-scale or hyperscale environments
  • •Advanced CAD/BIM skills (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or equivalent) to create precise schematics
  • •Deep knowledge of data center power distribution, UPS, HVAC/cooling systems, and structured cabling
  • •Firm grasp of industry standards: TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, ANSI/BICSI
