Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop the mechanical design of the next module or chassis, addressing structure, cooling, EMC, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, and documentation
•Create and manage 3D CAD models and drawings using Creo for prototyping and manufacturing
•Schedule and lead cross-functional design reviews and participate in reviews of other engineers’ designs
•Structure BOM, release, and manage changes using PLM tools (Agile)
•Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and collaborate with PCB/ECAD teams to address placement concerns
•Coordinate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve DFM issues and support builds
•Laboratory validation of prototypes and communication of manufacturing issues to CM, with travel to suppliers as needed
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production sustaining issues
•Provide test data and documentation to support product development and qualification

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering + 7 years’ experience
•Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment designed to operate in data centers is preferred
•Experience with ECO, BOM and Deviation processes, (Agile experience a plus)
•Experience using ProEngineer (PTC Creo) is a plus
•Experience with thermal simulation and air flow testing is a plus
