Job Summary

Operate a commercial motor vehicle safely to transport live poultry and/or poultry feed between growers and processing facilities. Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, assist with trailer loading/unloading as needed, maintain required documentation, and report maintenance issues. Work in various outdoor and physically demanding conditions while following safety requirements including PPE.

Key Responsibilities

•Exercise safe driving practices to transport live poultry or poultry feed in a safe and secure manner.
•Comply with DOT safety rules and regulations and all company, local, state, and federal requirements.
•Perform and document pre-trip inspections and maintain proper documentation for equipment, time, trips, and weight.
•Assist with loading and unloading trailer as necessary and ensure secure load before movement.
•Clean and wash the truck and report maintenance issues to a supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Minimum age of 21.
•Valid Class A CDL with 1 year verifiable satisfactory driving record.
•Knowledge of Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws.
•Ability to read and write legibly.
•High school diploma or equivalent; previous live poultry tractor trailer driving experience is preferred.
