Job Summary

We are seeking a commercially minded in-house lawyer to support Retool’s sales and vendor contracting, build scalable legal processes, and guide business decisions around AI and privacy. You’ll review MSAs/DPAs, lead vendor contract reviews, and develop playbooks and templates, partnering with Finance, Trust, and Compliance to enable rapid, risk-aware growth in a B2B SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Review, revise, and negotiate MSAs, DPAs, order forms, and NDAs for the sales team
•Lead vendor contract reviews with internal stakeholders
•Build and maintain commercial legal infrastructure, including contract intake workflows, templates, playbooks, and process documentation, and identify AI-enabled efficiency improvements
•Partner with Finance, Accounting, Trust, and other internal teams to provide practical legal guidance on day-to-day operations
•Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies and evolving laws and regulations relevant to the business

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 162,600 - 200,900 annually

Key Requirements

•J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
•3-5 years of in-house or law firm experience, with meaningful exposure to commercial contracts in a B2B SaaS environment across both customer and vendor relationships
•Familiarity with privacy law frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA
•Comfort with high-volume, quick-turn commercial work and the ability to prioritize and execute independently
•Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort translating legal concepts for non-lawyer audiences
