Job Summary

Receive paid, hands-on training as an aircraft repair technician apprentice while attending classes through the Collins Aerospace Aircraft Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. You’ll follow Safety, Quality, and Compliance procedures as you inspect units, perform leak and static electrical checks, disassemble/clean/assemble components, run acceptance and functional tests, and complete documentation and final unit preparation.

Key Responsibilities

•Apply Safety, Quality, and Compliance procedures and use proper PPE.
•Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical specifications using current documentation revisions.
•Conduct incoming visual inspections, leak checks, static electrical checks, and acceptance test procedure (ATP) checks.
•Disassemble, clean, inspect failure modes, and assemble units/components according to technical documentation.
•Perform functional testing and complete final unit preparation, including documentation review, visual inspection, and touch-up paint.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
•Must enroll at Miami Dade College to complete the Collins Aerospace Aircraft Mechanic Apprenticeship Program.
•Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, technical training, military service, hobbies, or personal projects.
•Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, manuals, or repair instructions.
