Key Responsibilities

  • •Technically lead or verify flood hydrological assessments supporting flood alleviation scheme design, reservoir engineering, and flood risk assessments.
  • •Technically review or verify reports documenting hydrological assessments.
  • •Support Water team business development activities for clients on national and international projects.
  • •Mentor staff within the team in hydrological estimation to support professional development.
  • •Deliver thought leadership and represent AECOM at conferences while driving innovation (including AI solutions).

Key Requirements

  • •Degree (BSc/BEng/MSc) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • •More than 15 years’ experience leading estimation of flood flows using FEH and REFH2 for flood mapping and reservoir engineering.
  • •Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis and experience calibrating hydraulic models with hydraulic modellers.
  • •Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS, and/or MapInfo.
  • •Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM, with experience in rating reviews (and scripting knowledge/experience like R, Python, Anaconda, Ruby, Hydrology+, or WINEP low-flow studies as advantageous).
