Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems for air-cooled or direct fluid-cooled cooling requirements, including airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and industry compliance.
  • •Select appropriate cooling systems (fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, and containment solutions) based on data center cooling needs and equipment criticality.
  • •Conduct internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, evaluate designs across electrical/mechanical interactions, and recommend modifications.
  • •Design HVAC systems with redundancy and fault-tolerant features (backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring) to support continuous operation during failures or maintenance.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for HVAC needs based on IT equipment, power density, growth, and construction/phasing; coordinate integration with electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute), TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002.
  • •Preferred: bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or related field; master's or advanced coursework is preferred.
