Job Summary

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of competency-based engineering and maintenance development programs, including FQM’s Senior Proficiency Framework. Align workforce capability pathways to the Asset Management Framework, national training standards, and operational excellence initiatives. Partner with HR, site leadership, and training teams to identify skill gaps, build artisan learning modules, track KPIs, and support succession planning to improve safe, reliable, cost-effective asset performance.

Job Function: Administration & Executive Assistance

Key Responsibilities

•Establish and deploy a structured Senior Proficiency Framework for Engineering, Maintenance, and Support Services, ensuring alignment with operational needs and consistency across sites.
•Define competency-based career pathways for senior engineering and maintenance staff in line with the Asset Management Framework and integrate with reliability/operational excellence programs.
•Collaborate with HR to maintain job grades and align performance-based incentives, compensation structures, and workforce planning with framework outputs.
•Support artisan development by aligning artisan proficiency initiatives and enabling practical, industry-focused training modules.
•Track KPIs for skills development outcomes, report to leadership, and manage succession plans in collaboration with group resources.

Key Requirements

•Demonstrated experience (3+ years) designing and maintaining competency-based development programs for technical disciplines across engineering and maintenance.
•4–6 years working within formal asset management, reliability, and operational excellence contexts, translating framework commitments into development pathways and KPIs.
•6–8 years in industrial or mining environments with direct partnership with maintenance and engineering teams on lifecycle asset management and skills uplift, including exposure to workshop/plant operations.
•Practical engagement with national qualifications frameworks and industry training standards, including mapping modules to standards and supporting audits/assessments.
•Experience collaborating with HR on job grading, career progression mapping, compensation and incentives, and succession planning for technical roles.
