Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and lead design packages from concept through construction for highways, rail/light rail, bus infrastructure, and greenway/active travel projects.
  • •Apply UK and/or Irish design standards to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
  • •Deliver high-quality client deliverables within quality standards, timeframes, and budget constraints.
  • •Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (including drainage, structures, and environmental) and coordinate with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders through statutory approval processes.
  • •Develop the team by mentoring apprentices and contributing to a culture of growth and continuous learning.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering (or similar).
  • •Post-graduate experience in relevant areas such as civil engineering, highways, public transport and greenways, and NEC or other contract management.
  • •Knowledge and experience of UK and Irish design standards applicable to the role (e.g., DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual).
  • •Knowledge of contract documentation for major transport projects (e.g., NEC/Public Works Contract) and related specifications to MCHW/MCRW.
  • •Knowledge of statutory planning and design approvals in the UK and/or Ireland (e.g., EIA/NIS/CPO and associated planning processes).
