Key Responsibilities

  • •Schedule and oversee regional TOC floor staff initial and recurrent training, including staff audits.
  • •Coordinate and lead regional TOC floor staff to deliver regional traffic management and traveler information.
  • •Oversee daily TOC operations efficiency and effectiveness across incident management, traffic signal operations, and active vehicle detection.
  • •Participate in resume review, interviews, and recommendations for hire/advancement opportunities.
  • •Oversee control room equipment status and system reporting maintenance needs, and support performance assessments and floor staff audits.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency experience and/or education.
  • •Pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check, including Virginia Department of Transportation fingerprint-based CHRC.
  • •Pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in mandatory random drug screening.
  • •Experience in leadership, management, and staff relationship.
  • •Experience with day-to-day traffic control room operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including Advanced Traffic Management Systems.
