Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Manager level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect the SST end to end, selecting topology (e.g., ISOP DAB stacks, MMC-based) and semiconductor strategy with defenses around efficiency, redundancy, manufacturability, and device availability.
  • •Lead power electronics, magnetics, and controls engineers from architecture to working hardware, owning technical decisions to get prototypes built.
  • •Own system trade-offs and define the interface with the MVDC systems team, writing clear boundaries for where SST stops and the system begins.
  • •Build the program plan and prototype roadmap, including build-vs-partner recommendations.
  • •Develop vendor and research partnerships across device makers, labs, and universities to secure devices, test capacity, and expertise.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 208,000 - 263,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •15+ years in power conversion and experience leading an SST or MV converter program (e.g., ABB/Hitachi Energy research, GE, Delta, EPRI, or FREEDM/ETH/Aachen lineage).
  • •Owned converter topology selection, semiconductor strategy, and MW-scale system trade-offs, with the ability to defend engineering choices.
  • •Led converter development teams from architecture through working hardware, not only papers or simulations.
  • •Deep knowledge of the SiC ecosystem to create a five-year semiconductor strategy where 10kV devices are scarce.
  • •Ability to write and defend a 12-month program plan for a team of 8 engineers.
