Job Summary

Lead the team responsible for Apollo’s “nervous system,” ensuring data and connectivity work flawlessly across the robot—from high-bandwidth sensor data and low-latency joint control to cloud telematics. Manage electrical, RF, and interconnect engineers while overseeing internal network architecture, external wireless/RF integration (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular 5G/LTE), wire harnessing and flex-PCBs, and EMI/EMC and signal integrity. Drive cross-functional system integration for Apollo at scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage, mentor, and grow a team of electrical, RF, and interconnect engineers; empower tech leads, run design reviews, and allocate resources across hardware development cycles.
•Oversee internal network architecture, including physical layer design and routing rules for communication buses distributed throughout the robot.
•Lead integration and antenna design strategies for wireless data links (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular 5G/LTE) to enable telemetry, OTA updates, and teleoperation.
•Own physical interconnect design, shielding, and dynamic routing of wire harnesses and custom flex‑PCBs across articulating joints to maximize lifecycle reliability.
•Define EMI/EMC and signal integrity strategies, including grounding architectures, shielding, and spectrum management, to isolate sensitive data and RF from high-power mechatronics noise; partner with Electrical, Mechanical, and Software teams for system integration and packaging.

Key Requirements

•BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
•10+ years of professional hardware engineering experience, including at least 4+ years of direct people management.
•Deep expertise in at least two areas: RF/wireless module integration (Cellular, Wi‑Fi, BT), complex wire harness design and flex‑PCBs for dynamic systems, EMI/EMC mitigation and grounding architectures with FCC/CE compliance testing, and high/low-speed digital signal integrity.
•Proven ability to balance competing physical constraints (thermal, mechanical packaging, electrical noise) in tightly integrated hardware.
•A hands-on leadership style that can review schematics/layouts while delegating to and elevating senior technical contributors.
