Job Summary

Own technical commercialization of new (enzyme modified) processed dairy flavors, spray dried products, and dry blends by reviewing formulas, writing manufacturing instructions, and transferring scale-up data from R&D to full-scale production. Oversee pilot and first large-scale trials, troubleshoot safety/reproducibility/economic viability gaps, and lead technical projects to improve processes in support of manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Review safety, quality, and complexity of new formulas/processes prior to SAP entry.
•Write and modify manufacturing instructions based on R&D outputs and subsequent sample/pilot plant production.
•Transfer scale-up and production information to full-scale manufacturing via documentation, written reports, presentations, and in-person contact.
•Oversee pilot and first-time large-scale production for exceptional scale-ups at pilot plant, manufacturing sites, or toll manufacturing sites.
•Troubleshoot products and processes when safety, reproducibility, or economic viability are below targets; modify products with support from R&D and Industrialization colleagues.

Key Requirements

•Minimum BS in Food/Dairy Science, Biological or Chemical Sciences, or Chemical Engineering.
•3-5+ years of experience in R&D, Pilot Plant, or Production for dairy food/ingredient processing, spray drying, or flavor industry.
•Hands-on pilot/production scale experience with spray drying and dairy food/ingredient processes, plus some working knowledge of analytical equipment.
•Familiarity with GMPs for Food Manufacturing facilities; comfortable working in the lab and handling potentially hazardous chemicals.
•Strong English verbal and written communication; French or Spanish is a plus.
