Key Responsibilities

  • •Own manufacturing process development and documentation for flight computer, GNC, and RF avionics assemblies (PCBA, box-level build, integrated unit assembly) to IPC-610/620 Class 3, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, and NASA-STD-8739 series.
  • •Author and maintain work instructions, travelers, and as-built records for owned assemblies.
  • •Drive Design for Manufacturability and assembly into avionics designs before CDR, including component selection/screening, testability, connector access, and harness routing.
  • •Specify and qualify assembly tooling, fixtures, and test equipment for avionics build; support test station interface with Test Operations.
  • •Perform root cause analysis, PFMEA, process validation, and first article inspection for avionics processes; disposition nonconformances and support hands-on technical work on the floor.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related technical discipline).
  • •8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience on electronic assemblies in aerospace/space/defense or other high-reliability industries.
  • •Working knowledge of high-reliability electronics workmanship standards, including IPC-610/620 Class 3, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, and NASA-STD-8739 series.
  • •Hands-on experience with PCBA processes (SMT, through-hole, conformal coating, potting, component screening) and box-level assembly (cabling, harnessing, mechanical integration, thermal, EMI/EMC).
  • •Experience authoring work instructions or travelers for flight or comparably high-consequence electronic hardware, plus root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), PFMEA, and first article inspection.
