Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, perform routine maintenance, analyze defects, test, adjust, repair, and maintain complex equipment such as switching systems, circuit equipment, network terminal equipment, and data/digital equipment using electrical/electronic measuring devices.
  • •Plan jobs, determine materials and resources, update work and maintenance logs, and keep teams and managers informed on project status.
  • •Travel between central office locations.
  • •Review and interpret work orders, wiring lists, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings, following standard practices.
  • •Run diagnostic test programs and analyze defects by testing telephone switching equipment (e.g., 5ESS and Electronic Data Switching) using test devices such as volt-ohm meters, spectrum analyzers, and data analyzers.

Key Requirements

  • •At least six months of experience diagnosing circuit trouble and performing testing with volt-ohm meters, TMS, or comparable equipment.
  • •At least six months of experience provisioning and maintaining POTS, DSO, DS1/T1, DS3/T3, DSL, and fiber circuits.
  • •Proficiency in DMS 100 switch maintenance and routines, with working knowledge of IOF and SONET/DWDM equipment and services.
  • •Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • •Ability to work varying shifts and hours, including possible mandatory overtime, callouts, weekends, and holidays.
