Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor underwriting strategy using performance metrics, data/insights, and syndicate findings; adjust strategy as needed.
  • •Act as primary liaison to assigned underwriting business units, providing transactional and strategic consultation.
  • •Lead initiatives to develop technical underwriting guidelines and best practices, including controls and procedures.
  • •Lead projects by setting direction, aligning resources, and ensuring successful outcomes; handle complex referrals within delegated authority.
  • •Support portfolio management and pricing by analyzing profitability/growth, monitoring technical price accuracy, and implementing recommendations for change.
  • •Lead underwriting operational transformation and support governance frameworks in assigned areas.
  • •Partner with peers and business units to execute underwriting strategy and contribute to line-of-business underwriting goals and policy.
  • •Develop and deliver technical training content; participate in reviews to identify trends and agreed action plans.
  • •Participate in compliance-related queries, including regulatory exams and insurance department inquiries.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 132,500 - 217,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of underwriting experience.
  • •OR High school diploma (or equivalent) and 10+ years of underwriting experience.
  • •Advanced knowledge of Workers Compensation line of business and the legal/regulatory environment.
  • •Experience with portfolio management, underwriting, product underwriting, product development, risk selection, and pricing.
  • •Ability to handle complex queries/referrals and navigate ambiguity while collaborating and presenting effectively.
