Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish understanding of mechanical components for haulage trucks and heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, and graders.
  • •Assist journeypersons with industrial mechanics activities including assembling, installing, repairing, and dismantling mobile heavy equipment.
  • •Learn and support maintenance of heavy machinery systems (engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, and exhaust).
  • •Assist with mechanical preventative maintenance and provide accurate work closure details recorded on work orders.
  • •Maintain tools and equipment in clean, orderly condition, complete an apprentice log book, and support shop housekeeping and equipment setup tasks.
