Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide local technical design and CADD support for electric utility transmission and distribution substation projects.
  • •Generate and maintain design-phase deliverables (e.g., general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, conduit/cable/trench layouts, wiring diagrams, schematics, bill of materials) as applicable.
  • •Collect, compile, and analyze data from site work, surveys, blueprints/schematics, specifications, drawings, and rough sketches to support drafting and design activities.
  • •Under minimal supervision, use 3D CADD software and work with engineers to resolve design details/discrepancies and produce precise drawings for basic to moderate scope.
  • •Assist with verification of calculations, design/change orders, interpretation of contract plans/specifications, and escalation of errors or technical problems for resolution.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma.
  • •5+ years of relevant post-education experience providing drafting and design support for electric utility substation projects, including physical substation design and/or P&C.
  • •Highly familiar with drafting/design support principles, practices, process, and record-keeping requirements.
  • •Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • •Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team, with strong interpersonal/communication skills and attention to detail.
