Job Summary

Lead design and engineering of SCMS, SCADA and substation automation for EHV/HV/MV substations and transmission networks. Deliver integrated substation automation solutions, interfacing protection, control, and telecom systems within a unified SCMS platform, while ensuring cyber security (IEC 62443) and multi-vendor integration across large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and design SCMS / Substation Automation System (SAS) / EMS architecture for station, bay, and process levels.
•Prepare and review engineering deliverables including system architecture diagrams, I/O lists, network layouts, and HMI/database configurations.
•Interface SCMS with substation equipment such as protection relays, tele-protection systems, GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers and feeders.
•Design and review control logic, interlocking schemes, and automation sequences; ensure SCMS integration with control centers using IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols.
•Lead integration of telecom systems (MPLS, SDH, OFC/OPGW networks, 4G/5G, Wireless) for reliable data exchange and implement cybersecurity aligned with IEC 62443; participate in FAT/SAT and system validation activities.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Instrumentation / Control Engineering.
•8-15+ years of experience in SCMS / SCADA / Substation Automation Systems, with power transmission substations (EHV/HV/MV).
•Strong understanding of substation primary/secondary equipment, protection systems and tele-protection schemes, and transmission network operations.
•Hands-on experience with IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols; RTUs, BCUs and IEDs integration.
•Knowledge of telecommunication systems (MPLS, SDH, FOC/OPGW, Microwave, 4G/5G) and cybersecurity in substations and OT systems (IEC 62443).
