Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise the client on cost strategy, manage vendor prequalification, assess proposals/bids and bid levelling documents, and chair bid interviews.
  • •Develop and review project estimates, present estimates to the client, and deliver value engineering recommendations and risk assessments using benchmark data.
  • •Establish reporting schedules and manage cost reporting by reviewing cost reports/forecasts, budget vs. spend forecasts, and maintaining a commercial risk register.
  • •Drive cost control by reviewing payment application assessments, recommending contractor entitlements, managing change orders, and applying dispute prevention/resolution procedures.
  • •Manage invoicing and post-contract accounting activities, including final accounting processes, post-contract audits, lessons-learned reviews, and project handover procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3-5 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
