Key Responsibilities

•Lead all classroom instruction; deliver approved TSA training and safety brief; introduce and describe new equipment; ensure students understand and sign the safety briefing.
•Maintain a minimum instructor/student ratio of 1:6 and ensure sufficient inventory of training supplies for monthly requalification sessions.
•Verify weapons and credentials of each FFDO before training commences by visual inspection; ensure proper scoring of targets and completion of administrative forms.
•Sign and certify qualification scores for all FFDOs attempting to qualify; coordinate custody of equipment and credentials as needed.
•Secure SSI and SPII information and comply with TSA policy; manage the training environment from arrival to departure.

Key Requirements

•5 years of firearms training experience.
•Current or former federal firearms instructor training program credentials (e.g., FLETC FITP, FAMS, FBI/DEA, USPSI) or equivalent.
•Associates Degree or the equivalent combination of education, certifications or training, or work/military experience.
•US Citizenship Required: No
•Working conditions include indoor/outdoor gun range, handling weapons and ammunition, hearing protection, and background/security checks.
