Key Responsibilities

•Receive work orders and determine tools, equipment, time, manpower, parts, and supplies needed; respond to crisis calls with required tools and equipment.
•Read and interpret blueprints, schematics (including electrical), wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
•Observe and detect equipment malfunctions; disassemble equipment, identify faulty parts, replace/reassemble, and test.
•Test major subsystems or components to localize problems and fabricate replacement parts using welding, cutting, or sheet metal work.
•Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, install new equipment and utilities (e.g., electrical, water, gas, drain lines), and maintain activity records and logs.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience/training in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing; or 4 years of direct maintenance experience.
•Vocational/technical diploma or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school (preferred).
•Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact with personnel and outside contractors.
•Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
•Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and to read work orders, write daily reports, and use equipment manuals.
