Key Responsibilities

  • •Receive work orders and determine tools, equipment, time, manpower, parts, and supplies needed; respond to crisis calls with required tools and equipment.
  • •Read and interpret blueprints, schematics (including electrical), wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • •Observe and detect equipment malfunctions; disassemble equipment, identify faulty parts, replace/reassemble, and test.
  • •Test major subsystems or components to localize problems and fabricate replacement parts using welding, cutting, or sheet metal work.
  • •Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, install new equipment and utilities (e.g., electrical, water, gas, drain lines), and maintain activity records and logs.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience/training in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing; or 4 years of direct maintenance experience.
  • •Vocational/technical diploma or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school (preferred).
  • •Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact with personnel and outside contractors.
  • •Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
  • •Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and to read work orders, write daily reports, and use equipment manuals.
