Job Summary

Join the Advanced Materials Section in Tucson, AZ as a Materials Engineer to support R&D and implementation of solutions in ceramics, coatings, and composites. You’ll collect data, report results to customers, collaborate with senior engineers, and travel as needed to support programs and vendors in a multi-disciplined team focused on high-temperature materials challenges and DoD-relevant work.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with subject matter experts in ceramics and other materials, supporting processing and characterization.
•Collect data and compile observations/results to report to internal and external customers.
•Gain mentorship and shoulder-to-shoulder empirical experience from the senior engineers.
•Work independently or with teams to solve materials challenges.
•Travel as needed to support programs and work with vendors

Salary: USD 68,900 - 131,100 annually

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
•Experience in ceramics or coatings or composite materials
•Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Ceramics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
•Strong verbal and communication skills, proven capability interacting with cross-functional teams
•Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
