Job Summary

Senior Traffic Control Engineer responsible for delivering traffic control engineering projects across the UK and internationally. Lead technical design, produce packages (AutoCAD/Civils3D), ensure UK standards compliance (DMRB/TSMRGD), mentor junior staff, and collaborate with highways, structures and traffic teams while engaging clients across multiple locations.

Job Function: Solutions Engineering & Sales Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver specialist technical consultancy and design services for traffic control engineering projects for internal and external clients, including design layout drawings, reports, ITS1827 forms and MOVA data sets.
•Collaborate with highways, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environment and traffic teams to integrate technology with civil and electrical works; attend meetings and engage with clients across the UK; mentor junior team members.
•Contribute to RAMS, hazard logs and technical assurance evidence; provide implementation support via FAT, SAT and MOVA validations; respond to technical queries and reviews.
•Ensure compliance with UK standards and guidance (DMRB, TSM, TSRGD), CDM 2015 and Safe by Design principles; support bids, estimates and technical proposals; verify deliverables against client brief and quality procedures.
•Deliver highway network improvements and junction modernisations by coordinating across disciplines and managing quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements

•BEng or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering.
•Knowledge of the latest traffic control engineering design standards, implementation support processes and traffic signal technology applications.
•Proficiency in producing technically assured deliverables (AutoCAD, Civils3D), equipment schedules, ITS1827 forms, and MOVA designs including MOVA data sets and design reports.
•NHSS8 / HERS registered.
•Experience in traffic control engineering design and implementation support, especially MOVA control.
