Lead one or more delivery teams modernizing a high-volume global payments platform from monolithic batch processing to event-driven microservices on AWS. Key Responsibilities

•Lead and develop engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and retaining engineers while building a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
•Own delivery outcomes by ensuring teams ship production-ready software incrementally with clear integration milestones instead of big-bang releases.
•Participate in technical direction through architecture discussions, design reviews, and engineering trade-off decisions.
•Drive engineering standards (TDD, CI/CD discipline, observability, and production readiness) as non-negotiable requirements.
•Remove blockers and create clarity by resolving cross-team dependencies and shielding teams from noise to enable delivery.
•Foster AI-first engineering practices so teams actively use AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and problem-solving.
•Collaborate across sites as a peer with engineering leads to ensure shared ownership and consistent standards.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering distributed systems, owning delivery outcomes alongside managing engineers.
•Strong technical background in modern Java or Kotlin, microservices, and event-driven architectures, with ability to review code/design and spot technical issues.
•Experience building and scaling teams through hiring, onboarding, and creating effective team structures.
•Track record of delivering software iteratively in complex environments using integration-first approaches (e.g., vertical slicing).
•Ability to engage credibly with architects and principal engineers on technical decisions, with experience embedding AI-assisted engineering into team workflows.
