Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain safe, clean, hygienic, and tidy aquarium/animal environments while adhering to SOPs and department manuals.
  • •Conduct daily observations of animals, support diagnosis and corrective procedures, and assist/perform necropsy procedures as needed.
  • •Maintain animal records and departmental logbooks accurately, including enrichment/welfare assessments and data uploads to online systems.
  • •Oversee aquarium exhibits, cultures, and preventive maintenance, including water quality tests and reporting abnormal results.
  • •Run marine educational programs and deliver Marine Animal Adventures for guests; mentor other aquarists when needed.

Key Requirements

  • •PADI Rescue Scuba Certification (or equivalent) and strong ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Marine Science, or a related field.
  • •Minimum 4 years of experience in an Aquarist role.
  • •Proficiency with computer skills, Microsoft package, and reporting; experience with animal record keeping and uploading data to online systems (OERCA/ZIMS).
  • •Experience quarantining animals, applying treatment/transport, and overseeing saltwater and freshwater life support systems.
