Key Responsibilities

  • •Own fluid/HVAC components across campus – compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and dust collection systems; lead design and analysis.
  • •Perform CAD modeling and design of these systems.
  • •Perform fluid analyses for pressure balance, allowable design, and consumables determination.
  • •Collaborate with production, avionics, GNC, mission operations and other SpaceX programs to meet requirements.
  • •Ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable; support manufacturing transition and sustainment.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; 5+ years of professional experience with valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.
  • •Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).
  • •Hands-on experience with fluid handling systems and data acquisition/test instrumentation (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, relays).
  • •Experience with HVAC systems and air ducting; NX or other CAD packages with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1994 and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • •Ability to work independently and willingness to work extended hours/weekends.
